Good Morning.

There are only two types of beverages I can drink while smoking: alcohol and coffee.  This morning while drinking my morning coffee and smoking my morning cigarette, I stood on the porch singing “How Great is Our God.”  I am sometimes overwhelmed with the need to praise and worship God.  As I was singing, I noticed the beauty, the rain-covered, still-being-drenched-with-rain beauty of the nature surrounding our house.

We have an unkempt yard to say the least.  The yard was mowed last week, but the seriously steep bank in front of our house hasn’t been weedeated for the better part of 2 months.  Why? Because I have a difficult time weedeating the hillside.  My boyfriend can spend anywhere from 4 days to 2 months on the road at a time.  During the times my boyfriend is home, which can be 1-3 weeks at a time, he really doesn’t feel like doing strenuous work.  Ok.  I have a problem with the fact that he’s been home for 2 weeks and hasn’t taken care of the yard in spite of the fact that he does not have to go to work while home from work…

I digress.

We have an unkempt yard to say the least.  Growing in front of our home is grass and weeds.  Right in front of our porch is an overgrown flower bed filled with weeds, a pretty day lily plant, poison ivy, which is also growing up the posts of the porch, and beautiful morning glories.  I love the morning glories.  My boyfriend is of the mind that they’ll have to go when we get around to de-weeding the flower bed.  I hope we can figure out how to keep the morning glories.  They’re so pretty.  I enjoyed their half-opened blooms this morning while also enjoying my coffee and cigarette and singing “How Great is Our God”.

God is so amazing.  The little morning glories are a testament to me how great and wonderful and creative and perfect God is.  And if God is so great and wonderful and creative and perfect in constructing morning glories, how much more is/was he in constructing me?  Our God is so great!
